Hard Rock Hotel offers guaranteed haunted hotel room
Beginning Oct. 4, Hard Rock Hotel is offering guests haunted hotel rooms as part of the hotel's "Eternal Rest Package" in conjunction with Universal Orlando's annual Halloween Horror Nights festivities.
Special touches in the rooms include coffins, body parts stuffed in drawers, skeletons, tombstones and even blood red shower water.
Each evening, guests "trapped" in the room will experience various surprises, beginning with someone evil entering the room and ending in total chaos — including breaking mirrors and a bed that seems possessed.
Hard Rock's management assures guests that they are taking every opportunity to protect anyone who has purchased the "Eternal Rest Package," including a 24-hour on-call contact.
Still, guests will be asked to sign a waiver absolving the hotel of any responsibility for what "harm" may come to pass during the night.
"Though it's all in good fun, the line between realism and special effects will definitely be blurred," says Hard Rock General Manager Lou Carrier. "This really will be unbelievably terrifying."
The "Eternal rest" hotel package includes a one-night stay for two at the Hard Rock Hotel, one-night admission for two to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal's Islands of Adventure and a souvenir photo.
And if the package's price of $585 doesn't deter you, Carrier notes that "for guests who travel from around the country to experience Universal's famed Halloween Horror Nights, why should they get a good night's sleep. Forget it."
This year marks the 12th anniversary of Halloween Horror Nights.
