SPIRIT Seekers was
recently asked address a group of students at
Cabot
Junior High School, who had chosen the study of ghost hunting as a
science class project. The students had been studying ghost hunting and
attempting to apply a scientific approach to the gathering of data.
We conducted Lab for the class on April 5, 2007, where
we introduced them to our methods of gathering data. The class was divided into
teams and each investigator took their group out into the darkened building to
learn hands-on procedures of equipment usage.
The last 45 minutes was dedicated to full classroom
instruction.
It was here that we taught them SPIRIT Seekers investigation procedures.
Students saw first-hand captures and how to use the computer to analyze.
Don’t think that the education was all one-sided. The
students introduced us to what they had been doing for the semester and their
work was very impressive.
We are looking forward to having a well-trained group of young adults enter the
ranks of paranormal research in the very near future.
