Experience

Submitted by Toby Crow

My family and I went to Lake Atkins in south Arkansas to swim sometimes during the summer when I was young. I was guilty of wading about and sometimes getting out a little to far. Floating like a tucked up like a ball was easy enough until a current made me spin end over end. I lost sense of direction and time seemed to slow down. To this day, I recall looking down from about six feet at my spinning body. Some amount of time went by. I had a feeling of trying to get back "down there" simultaneously I shot my head out of the water and luckily for me it was the right direction because I had ran out a air.

That truly cut back on my water activites for a while.
