This building was constructed when Smackover
was a boom town. Oil had been discovered and the population had risen by
thousands, seemingly overnight. The church had ou lived its usefulness by late
1960’s and moved away from downtown. The city converted the building into the
city library on the lower level, and town meeting rooms in what used to be the
sanctuary.

as it registers high readings. That can be a sign of spirit activity. In
an effort to keep our findings as real as possible, we continue to seek
answers for evidence gathered at investigations. This piece turned out to
be a cell phone that was on silent, receiving messages during the
investigation.
