This building started out as a stable. In the early 1920’s it was the center of a bank robbery that had happened just a few doors down; the bandits ran to the stable to get horses for getaway. Several years later the front was enclosed to make the building as it is seen today. Different establishments have been housed in the Burns Building. According to local legend, it is where the bank robbers of the 20’s died in a gun battle and hid the money in the well.
