Phenomena captured on film: During this investigation we
found some scientific signs of a haunting. This was a very clean house. We
photographed some orbs of interest but only one of the orbs captured on a
digital photo fit our criteria of being energy orbs. To be an energy orb they
must be very close to round in shape, dense in nature and show motion. This
picture was taken in the spare room in the basement. The camera had been set up
earlier in the evening in the basement bedroom because of stories of paranormal
activity that centered on this room. The camera had been recording about thirty
minutes when a bright light appears in the room for a brief period of time. The
light appeared and disappeared just before a tapping on the camera microphone
could be heard at two different times.
The bulk of the evidence gathered was in the basement. While
attempting to gather EVP (electronic voice phenomenon) a voice could be heard
while asking questions. The voice was also recorded on the voice recorder. So we
were able not only catch EVP in the traditional methods with voice recorders but
we were also able to record a taping on the video camera.
Summation: Due to the fact that investigation was a
private residence and the house was not very large, we used a small group of
investigators. A group of four investigators were used on this investigation.
The team psychic (John) was inserted in to the house at 7 pm with spirit
sensitive (Christina). They were allowed to do their walk through independently
while the others set up equipment and I interviewed the owner. Upon completion
of their psychic evaluation they were extracted to be interviewed by me
individually. While they were being interviewed the others went around the house
taking pictures and various climatic readings. During the interview both John
and Christina felt nothing of a paranormal nature. John did say that when he
walked in the house he felt the presence of a woman but that he thought it was a
residual energy.
Much of the activity that we found this evening was centered in
the basement. Not much is known about the previous owners but it is known that
the original owner died in the house. The new owner thinks that an old girl
friend may be visiting him from time to time. Some of the activity reported by
the owner is doors opening and closing without visible help, loud noises in the
middle of the night, cold spots, voices when no one else is in the house and the
sound of footsteps in other parts of the house. The figure of a tall slim man
and a young girl has been seen on two occasions by two different people.
Conclusion: According to the client, focus of the
supernatural activity is not centered in any one room but rather dispersed
throughout the house. We at Spirit Seekers believe this to be a true assessment
of the haunting also but our evidence gathered during this investigation was
taken in the basement only. At one point during the evening I ask if the house
could have been built on a Indian burial mound. The owner doesn’t know but the
two psychics said they get he feeling that it may have been built on sacred
ground. I did a small test by greeting the spirits in a native tongue. There
were dogs caged in another room and once he greeting was said the dogs started
crying like they were very frightened of something. The owner said that he had
never heard his dogs act in such a way.
Is the house in Cabot, Arkansas haunted? We have a grading
system that helps us to answer such questions. We graded the evidence as
follows; scientific evidence is photos, video, EMF readings, Temperature
readings and EVP. On a scale of 0 – 50 we gave the scientific evidence gathered
a 40. The evidence was there and it was fairly strong. Sensory evidence is that
of the human five senses and on a scale of 0 – 25 we gave the sensory evidence a
20 because of the disembodied voices heard during a recording secession. The
extra sensory evidence is the feelings of the psychic and sensitive. On a scale
of 0 – 25 we gave the extra sensory evidence a 10. Both of the spirit sensitives
had had little or no impressions that the house was occupied by anything other
than Mike, the owner. The grand total for this project is 70. The grading system
of all evidence gathered tells us that there is a strong possibility that there
is paranormal activity happening in the dark recesses of the home in Cabot.
