The Beautiful Desha County Courthouse sits close to the Arkansas River in Arkansas City, Arkansas. It was built in 1900 and is the oldest courthouse still in operation today. A lot of history surrounds this old courthouse but the most memorable event concerns a trial, conviction and a curse. It seems that Jim Williams, AKA "Willard", was tried, convicted and sentenced to hang. On the day of his execution he cursed the clock by saying, “I’m innocent and because you are hanging me I will haunt that clock for eternity and it will never work again." Since the execution the clock has not worked properly. We had to check this one out.

Inside courtroom.
Notice the bright orb in motion at the top of the picture. Could this be a victim of justice from years gone by?

In the courtroom.
See the bright orb in motion?
That is the item of interest. The other orbs are simply dust particles.

Also in the courtroom.
There is an energy orb under the window.

Taken from outside of the window of the Judge's secretary’s office.
It is small and hard to see, but look closely inside the room at the door. There is the shadow of a human form standing in the door. The building was empty at the time this photo was taken.

This is an enlargement of the shadow person standing in the doorway of the secretary’s office. This may be Willard.

 Video

The video camera had been set up in the First Floor Hallway in hopes of recording the shadow spirit. It is set in the same location as where the picture was taken earlier.
Instead, we got a heavy sigh when a couple of investigators came in the building.
The building was empty until they opened the front door.

EVPs

EVP 1

In this recording Investigator Jason had been sitting alone in the courtroom for awhile asking questions. He finally asks for any spirit in the room to make a noise.
Listen closely and you will hear a bang then Jason will ask, “Is that you?”
He had heard the bang as well.

EVP 2

Alan had been in the courtroom alone trying to gather some recordings of disembodied spirits. He asks, "Can you make a noise for us?" and recorded the noise afterwards.
It sounds like someone walking towards him.

EVP 3

In this recording Investigator Brian asks about the curse.
He wanted to know if the spirit was the one that had placed the curse on the clock.
They had an EMF meter out trying to get the spirit to communicate through it by making it beep. They got one beep after the question.

EVP 4

This recording was made late in the hunt.
We were gathering up equipment and storing it in the truck, but Alan left a recorder going in the courtroom. This sounds like the swinging doors between the public area of the courtroom and the working side of the courtroom.

EVP 5

This recording continues with the investigator asking about the curse. He gets an answer but we cannot make it out. EVP by BM
