Phenomena captured on film:
Using digital cameras, we managed to capture orbs at rest and orbs in
motion. We did not use 35mm cameras on this investigation. With the digital
video cameras, we captured orbs in motion. We also captured 3 EVPs in different
locations of the museum.
Summation:
There were eight investigators on this project. We arrived at the
museum at 8 pm. At this time we met the museum staff members that were going to
accompany us on the investigation. As usual, we sent the team medium and psychic
out to feel the area for "hot spots". While they were out, I briefed
the remaining team on the protocol that we would be following on this
investigation and briefed the museum staff on what would be expected of
them.
Angela, the team psychic, called me to the Native American exhibit where she was experiencing a problem with her radio. She was having static as if someone was trying to call her. The other radios were not experiencing the same problem. We thought that it may be a bad or weak channel, so we changed channels and continued to experience the same problem in that room. Once she left that room the radio remained silent.
Angela and Violet (the team medium) met in the original house chambers on the south end of the building. It was here that they both made contact with spirits. Violet made contact with a spirit named Andrew on the main floor. Andrew was a farmer and an attorney, and had worked in the State House. She was not able to understand exactly what he did at the State House. but found that he was concerned that she could see and talk to him. He knows he is dead. He asked her if she was a witch because in his day only witches could communicate with the dead. She told him, "No she is not a witch."
Angela made contact in the gallery above the House Chambers. It was here that she felt crowded as if the room was full. The air was charged with excitement. This could have been what is called residual haunting. A residual haunting is where a scene in time is played repeatedly. However, Angela did make contact with the spirit of a black woman servant named Missy. She described her as wearing a long skirt with an apron. She had a white turban on her head, and was accompanied by two other black women. One had a turban, and the other had little braids. The woman, Missy, was there because of someone named Alonzo or Griffin. No other contact or information was given concerning this woman.
We all moved about the museum and set up our equipment in various locations. The one area that was reported to me often was the room where the first ladies gowns were displayed. Most investigators reported that they felt as if they were being followed or watched in that room. When I was in that room I felt that I needed to leave and leave quickly. As I left, I felt drawn back as if I were being called back. This is a strange feeling when you know that you are alone. I walked by the room later while I was using the dousing rods in an attempt to stir up some spirit energy. The only action I got with the rods was when I walked by the door to the room. The rods turned sharply and pointed into the room. I tried to go in but when I got to the door I could not force myself to enter. The feelings I got in in this room are very unusual. I usually feel unwanted in an area where spirit activity is occurring but in this case I felt wanted and this really bothered me.
The investigation ended around 2:30 am and we left the building as we had found it.
