Phenomena captured on film: During this investigation we found the building to be unoccupied and in disrepair. We always come into an investigation whether it is a house or a business with an open mind knowing that spirits are everywhere. We do things a little different than may be expected in that we bring to bare all tools and disciplines available to the study of the supernatural.

That being said we cannot rule out the facts concerning this case. Our scientific approach netted us a good portion of evidence. The evidence gathered was done via still photography, audio and video. We did run into psychic energy in the building. This energy can be labeled as residual. More than one investigator said that they did not feel sadness while in the cell area. This could be the fact that it was an old abandoned jail or they could have been feeling residual energy.

During this investigation we found some scientific signs of a haunting. We photographed a couple of orbs of interest. They fit our criteria of being energy orbs. To be an energy orb they must be very close to round in shape, dense in nature and show motion.

We also captured one unidentified item in a video recording. It was that of a fast moving white blur. It almost looked like a hand. The fact that it was recorded in an area that was not accessible and that it was too cold for bugs to be out leaves me to wonder what it was if not that of a supernatural nature. We also captured two very good electronic voice phenomena in the back cell. They sounded like something a prisoner might say to  someone visiting the jail.

Summation: Due to the fact that investigation was a small business, we used a small group of investigators. A group of four seasoned investigators was used on this investigation. The team psychics, John, Christina and Polly, were inserted in to the building at different times. They were allowed to do their walk through while the others set up equipment. Upon completion of their psychic evaluation they were extracted to be interviewed separately. While they were being interviewed the others went around the building taking pictures and various climatic readings. During the interview two of the psychics revealed that they felt sadness while in the cells. The other psychic felt nothing. They said that they could not put a finger on why they felt sadness or if they were being influenced by a spirit or not.

Conclusion: Is the Smackover Jail in Smackover, Arkansas haunted? We have a grading system that helps us to answer such questions. We graded the evidence as follows; scientific evidence is photos, video, EMF readings, Temperature readings and EVP. On a scale of 0 – 50 we gave the scientific evidence gathered a 30. The evidence was there but wasn’t very strong. Sensory evidence is that of the human five senses and on a scale of 0 – 25 we gave the sensory evidence a 10. The extra sensory evidence is the feelings of the psychic and sensitive. On a scale of 0 – 25 we gave the extra sensory evidence a 10. The grand total for this project is 50. The grading system of all evidence gathered tells us that there is some sort of paranormal activity happening in the dark recesses of the Smackover Jail. But is it haunted, maybe.
