Phenomena captured on film: During this investigation we
found very few scientific signs of a haunting. This was a very clean house. We
photographed some orbs of interest but only one of the orbs captured on a
digital photo fit our criteria of being energy orbs. To be an energy orb they
must be very close to round in shape, dense in nature and show motion. This
picture was taken in the spare room where the computer was set up. I had been in
the dark room for about five minutes when I saw the curtain move. I ask in
anyone was in the room with me and then took the picture.
We also captured a small orb in motion on video. It was so faint
that when I tried to pull it out for closer examination it disappeared. We were
not able to capture any EVP or electronic voice phenomenon.
Summation: Due to the fact that investigation was a
private residence and the house was not very large, we used a small group of
investigators. A group of six investigators were used on this investigation. The
team psychic (Christina) was inserted in to the house at 7 pm with spirit
sensitives (Melisa) and (Polly). They were allowed to do their walk through
independently while the others set up equipment and I interviewed the owner.
Upon completion of their psychic evaluation they were extracted to be
interviewed by me individually. While they were being interviewed the others
went around the house taking pictures and various climatic readings. During the
interview all three people on the pre walk through team felt that there was
definitely one spirit present in the house. It was that of an older man. All
three agreed that the entity was not looking to harm anyone but that it was very
interested in the restoration of the house.
Much of the activity that was reported to me seemed to be
centered in the hall and some of the main rooms that adjoin it. Not much is
known about the previous owners but it is felt that this spirit was one of the
previous owners and remains behind as a watch dog. He wants to make sure that
the place is well cared for. Some of the activity reported is doors opening and
closing without visible help, Loud noises in the middle of the night, cold spots
and taping at the window. The figure of a tall slim man has been seen on two
occasions by two different people.
Conclusion: According to clients, focus of the
supernatural activity is not centered in any one room but rather dispersed
throughout the house. We at Spirit Seekers believe this to be a true assessment
of the haunting also. The only hint of paranormal activity that was revealed by
the use of IR equipment was found in the “hallway”. We found the presence of
orbs in motion that demonstrated a form of intelligence in the back spare room.
We experienced no form of supernatural contact in the physical sense.
Is the house close to downtown Smackover, Arkansas haunted? We
have a grading system that helps us to answer such questions. We graded the
evidence as follows; scientific evidence is photos, video, EMF readings,
Temperature readings and EVP. On a scale of 0 – 50 we gave the scientific
evidence gathered a 20. The evidence was there but wasn’t very strong. Sensory
evidence is that of the human five senses and on a scale of 0 – 25 we gave the
sensory evidence a 15. The extra sensory evidence is the feelings of the psychic
and sensitive. On a scale of 0 – 25 we gave the extra sensory evidence a 15. The
three spirit sensatives had very similar mental images as they went through the
house but they were not very strong ones. The grand total for this project is
50. The grading system of all evidence gathered tells us that there is a strong
possibility that there may be some sort of paranormal activity happening in the
dark recesses of the home in Smackover but that the combination of bad weather
and too many pets and people in the home while the investigation was conducted
could have accounted for the low scoring of the property. If we ever return to
this house we will want to have the place to ourselves for a longer period of
time.
